JULIA CALLON
ARTIST/SET DESIGNER

Working in a variety of mediums to produce my images -  3D digital design and rendering, model building, and collage - my personal work hovers between multiple disciplines but is firmly rooted in photography and continually informed by my career in set design. In my work I explore how photography functions as a representation of three dimensional space and the inherent opportunities and challenges that exist as a result. More specifically, my work is a process driven exercise in examining these ideas through experimenting with scale and engaging in techniques that challenge our perception of what is real. Through this process my work aims to produce images that feel familiar yet curious, bizarre and imaginative and materially and architecturally focused.
